Martha Steed Named New Alumni Director

LeTourneau University has named Martha Steed as its new Director
of Alumni and Parent Relations, responsible for developing and implementing programs to serve
alumni and parents of current students. Steed will assume her new role on Sept. 1, 2009.
Steed is a 2002 graduate of LeTourneau University’s School of
Graduate and Professional Studies with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She has
worked for the past six and a half years in fundraising with donors and alumni at East Texas
Baptist University in the Institutional Advancement office. She has planned homecoming activities,
assisted with alumni rallies, retreats and phonathon activities, as well as participating in the
planning of events including an annual etiquette banquet for graduating seniors.
Before working at ETBU, Steed worked for more than four years in
the president’s office at LeTourneau University. Prior to that, she worked as a medical
transcriptionist and medical secretary at medical facilities in Texarkana and Longview. Volunteer
activities include working in churches as a youth and music director.
“Her experience in Alumni Relations
makes her a valuable addition to our staff,” said Ben March, vice
president of University Development. “As an alumna, Martha appreciates her education and
understands the uniqueness of LeTourneau, and as a parent of an incoming freshman student, she
understands how to be effective in her role in Parent Relations.
