Harlem Gospel Choir to perform at LETU Feb 6

LeTourneau University will
present the Harlem Gospel Choir at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and
Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. Show sponsor is Good Shepherd Medical Center.
The most famous choir in America, the Harlem Gospel Choir travels
worldwide sharing its faith and raising funds for children’s charities. The choir was founded in
1986 by Allen Bailey. Bailey came up with the idea while attending an event honoring Martin Luther
King, Jr. at the Cotton Club in Harlem. The choir includes the best singers and musicians from
Harlem’s black churches as well as the New York/tri-state area.
Individual show ticket prices to see the Harlem Gospel Choir
are $32 for first orchestra Level A seating, $27 for second orchestra Level B seating, $22 for
lower balcony Level C seating and $17 for upper balcony Level D seating. Martin Midstream
Partners is the season sponsor for 2008-2009 Belcher Center performance series.

Designed by experts in acoustical engineering, the S.E. Belcher Jr.
Chapel and Performance Center seats more than 2,000 with orchestra, mezzanine and two
balconies. Prominently located at the front of the university campus at 2100 S. Mobberly Ave,
the Belcher Center is the largest building on LETU’s 162-acre campus. The center was built
primarily as a chapel where students gather three times each week for worship and spiritual
instruction, but the center also hosts educational, cultural and spiritual programs for the
community.
