LeTourneau University to go Trayless
Fri, Jan 23 2009
During Missions Emphasis Week, LeTourneau University’s Skipper
Dining Hall (Bon Appétit Café) will be going without trays from Mon. Jan. 26 to Sun. Feb. 2,
2009.
This experiment will
provide the opportunity to discuss topics concerning appropriate food consumption, sustainability,
and good stewardship of God’s provision and creation. The goal is to raise the awareness of food
waste, which impacts our landfills, and increased consumption of resources like water, gas,
electricity, and detergent. Less waste can also allow the dining hall to focus remaining resources
on quality of food and waste.
