“Freshmen Forging Friendships” is an outreach of more than 400 new, incoming LeTourneau University freshman students who will volunteer in 22 community service projects around Longview during their first weekend in their new hometown on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008. Services locations include the Salvation Army, ARC of Gregg County, Lear Park and Kidsview Park.
The purpose of “Freshmen Forging Friendships” is to introduce new students to the community and allow them to see ways that they can make a difference in Longview. Student community service hours last academic year totaled more than 70,000 hours. More than half of LeTourneau students are involved in volunteering throughout their college years.
