Dr. Wesley Nevius will join the staff of LeTourneau University effective Aug. 12, 2008 until the end of the 2009 Spring Semester. While serving at LeTourneau, Nevius will teach two courses, “ Contemporary World Missions” and “Cross Cultural Adaptation,” in the University’s Bible department. Nevius received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in 1978 and his master’s in divinity from Canadian Theological Seminary in 1985. He received his doctorate in ministry in 2006 from Trinity International University.
Nevius was a missionary in West Africa where he served from 1986 to 2003 with the Christian and Missionary Alliance as the director of the Cote D’Ivoire Mission in Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa. From 2006-2008, he lived in Senegal, West Africa, teaching at three different universities and Bible schools. Nevius also spent a year and a half learning the Baoule language and a year learning the Wolof language.
“Dr. Nevius brings ‘fresh-out-of-the-field’ knowledge to share with our students who are interested in missions,” says LETU Chaplain Harold Carl. “His presence on campus will strengthen our cross-cultural program by adding personal perspectives from field and mission board experiences.”
