Brent Ellis, the dean for LeTourneau University’E
E s Center of the Development of Christian Leadership, was awarded the coveted Ruth E. Bamford
Award for Distinguished Service by the Association for Christians in Student Development. The ACSD,
a student development organization of about 1,200 professionals, promotes the integration of
biblical principles in the professional practices of college student affairs programs
internationally.
Ellis won the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the ACSD. Ellis has conducted numerous workshops and seminars and provided valuable leadership consultation the field of student development and leadership.
“Brent is recognized as one of the top professionals in Christian leadership in the nation,” said Doug Wilcoxson, LETU vice president for Student Affairs. “We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber providing leadership to our center here at LETU.”
The annual award was presented at an international conference of student development professionals and higher education leaders in Cedarville, Ohio. Next year, LETU will host the annual conference, which will attract about 800 conferees to Longview June 2-4, 2009.
