LETU To Pay Baggage Fees For Incoming Students Next Fall
Tue, Jul 15 2008
College students with baggage, both of the emotional and physical variety, arrive at college
campuses in droves every fall. But students arriving at LeTourneau University this fall will find a
little help.
The university took notice that airlines are charging more money for tickets and baggage fees
in light of unprecedented high costs of fuel. So, to help offset these extra costs, the university
is offering to lighten the load by paying $15 toward baggage fees for incoming students.
“It seems like our incoming students who travel to LETU from all across the country are
really being hit hard this year, from fuel surcharges on airline flights to baggage fees for their
luggage,” said Linda Fitzhugh, vice president for enrollment services. “We thought we’d
lighten the load for them by offering to help carry their bags.”
The university is asking students to take their airline tickets to their admissions
counselors to have $15 credited to their student accounts.
