Internship Requirements
Students complete the semester internship assignment by enrolling in MEDU 5183 Internship (Campus Leader).  Internship placements will be coordinated through the Director of Field Experiences for LeTourneau University. Internship experiences can be developed around the specific leadership goals of the student, and done in cooperation with the district where the student is currently employed.  Students intern under the joint supervision of an online faculty adviser and a practicing school administrator or supervisor.

The internship may be scheduled anytime after students have completed MEDU 5033 Administration of the K-12 Curriculum. Students may elect to complete the internship concurrently with the program coursework, or may wait until after completing the final course, MBAC 6503 Strategic Management.

**REQUIREMENTS FOR TEXAS PRINCIPAL CERTIFICATION**:
Although a current teaching certificate and/or teaching experience is not required for program admission, in order to attain Texas principal certification, two years of creditable teaching experience as a classroom teacher, as defined by chapter 230, subchapter Y of Title 19 -Texas Administrator Code, is required.  Students must provide evidence of two year’s teaching experience, and a current teaching certificate before they are eligible to apply to the Certification Office to take the TExES Principal exam.  Upon receiving a successful score on the TExES Principal exam, and completing all other program coursework for the MBA-EL, students may apply to be recommended for state certification. For more information on certification requirements, please contact the Educator Certification Office.
