Developing Global Service Learning Projects

The Center for Global Service Learning awarded two Global Service Learning Grants in Spring 2012 for the incubation of two new GSL projects:

Transitional Shelter (Gustavo Cortez): Dr. Cortez and his team of students are developing a transitional shelter system that will enable the rapid construction of stable shelter by using the resources available in the host country after a natural disaster.

Financial Freedom for the Poor (Juan Castro): Dr Castro and his team of students are developing a pilot program on financial literacy and micro-enterprise in Longview that will be used in the developing world to help communities develop sustainable entrepreneurial enterprises.
