Men’s and Women’s Golf Finish Fall
Season
SALADO,
TEXAS
– The LeTourneau University men’s and women’s golf teams concluded their fall
schedules Tuesday at the University
of Mary
Hardin Baylor Fall Invitational.
The YellowJackets, coming off a strong performance at the
NCCAA Championships, finished with rounds of 314 and 301. “It was the end of a long fall season
for a team dominated by freshmen.
We didn’t play terrible, but we didn’t play our best either,” said head
coach Andy Woodring.
The
YellowJackets, 24th in the nation coming into the tournament, were
led by Josh Rutland (Gladewater/Sabine
HS) and Doug Moorehead’s
(Hamilton,
OH/Hamilton
HS)
36-hole score of 153. Christian Sarran (Longview/Spring Hill
HS) shot a 154 and Adam Harding
(Boca
Raton,
FL/Spanish
River
HS) shot
a 155. “I think fatigue had set in
and it left us a few shots behind where we needed to be in each round,” said the
coach.
The
LadyJackets finished in ninth place among NCAA Division III teams. The team shot 408 and 409 during the
two-day event. Lisa Kok
(Lynden,
WA/Lynden
Christian)
led the team with rounds of 81 and 88.
This was the last event of the fall season for the
team.
Both teams will be back in action in the spring and
Woodring is optimistic about each squad.
