Harding Tied for 1st at NCCAA Men’s Golf
Championships
PANAMA CITY, FL – Adam Harding
(Boca Raton, FL/Spanish River HS) is tied for the tournament lead and has
propelled the 20th ranked LeTourneau University men’s golf squad to a
tie for fourth place at the National Christian College Athletic Association
championship event after one day of competition.
Harding, a freshman, came into the round with a 76.4 strokes per round
average, but obliterated that total with a two-under par 70 for the first
round. As a team, the YellowJackets
shot a 302 and are currently behind The Master’s College (292), Malone (295) and
North
Greenville
(297). Hunter Cloud (Gladewater/Gladewater HS)
and Nate McCrary (Longview/Spring Hill
HS) both shot 76’s for the YellowJackets.
Head coach Andy Woodring is optimistic that the team will be able to jump
a few spots. “Other than Adam
(Harding), the rest of the guys came back to the clubhouse saying they can do
better and I agree with them. I
look for the team to improve tomorrow and am excited to see how we do,” said
Woodring.
