Sanders Leads LETU
Runners
DALLAS,
TEXAS
– The LeTourneau University cross country team competed at the Dallas Baptist
Invitational on Saturday afternoon and Heidi Sanders (Sugar Land/Fort
Bend
Austin
HS)
led the team with a second place finish in the women’s race.
The
YellowJacket men’s team was led by top-20 finishes from Jeremy Anderson
(Tucson,
AZ/Desert
Christian HS),
Nate Singer
(Wilmington,
DE/Wilmington
Christian),
Chip Glass (Longview/Home School)
and Joshua Maughon (Ooltewah,
TN/Chattanooga Christian). This
was the first race of the year that Anderson
led the team. He finished
10th in a time of 31:26 for the 8K
course.
Sanders
finished in second place for the second consecutive week. She battled being boxed in by
competitors, but still managed to run a time of 21:14
for the 5K course. Sanders finished
14 seconds behind winner Katie Simpson of Dallas
Baptist.
The
next meet for the LeTourneau harriers is next Saturday in
Georgetown
for the Southwestern
University
event.
