LETU Falls to Mississippi, 5-0

LONGVIEW, TEXAS – For 66:55, the LeTourneau University women’s soccer team played tough against American Southwest Conference East Division co-leader Mississippi College, then the floodgates opened up and the Lady Chocs blitzed their way to a 5-0 victory on Friday afternoon.

The LadyJackets (4-9-2, 3-8-2) limited the Lady Chocs offensively and had several scoring chances of their own.  Erica Crim (Henderson/Henderson HS) had three shots stopped by Mississippi goalkeeper Bethany Harris in the first half. 

The Lady Chocs (15-2-1, 10-1-1), to their credit, kept plugging away and when the first goal by Kemily Weimer hit the net at the 66:55 mark of the game, the team loosened up and kept scoring.  Four more goals were scored within the next 11:18 of the game.  Weimer scored one more goal and assisted on another.  Jennifer Benson added two goals and Katie DeDeaux finished off the contest with a goal.

The LadyJackets return to the pitch on Saturday against Louisiana College in the final contest of the season.  Stevi Peace (Longview/Jakarta International) and T.C. Willis (Carrollton/R.L. Turner HS) will each be playing their last games for LeTourneau.
