What brought you to LETU?

I was looking for a good engineering school that could provide strong foundations, both theoretically and with hands-on experience.  Also, I wanted to have a close relationship with professors.  I wanted to be able to go to their office if I had any doubts or freely engage in a conversation during class if I had questions about the material, and this was possible by attending a small school such as LeTourneau. After my parents visited LeTourneau and got to meet some of the professors, we believed this was the place we were looking for.

How would you describe your LETU Experience?

It was an amazing time and an invaluable experience.

Did any professors have a significant impact?

Absolutely, I want to thank Dr. Seung Kim, who is my master’s adviser, for guiding me and teaching me how to do research and to think critically.  He is an outstanding researcher and professor, and I am thankful for having the opportunity to work for him and learn from him. I also want to thank Dr. Paul Leiffer, he taught my favorite classes in LeTourneau. He is an amazing professor and always willing to help students outside of the classroom.  I remember going to his office for questions about classes that I wasn’t even taking with him, and he would always try to help me out.

How has LETU prepared you for your career?

LeTourneau taught me how to think critically by providing theoretical background as well as hands-on experience.  The fact that we tied up the class content with lab experiments, I believe, helped prepare me for my career.

What advice would you give to LETU students?

Manage your time well and stay on top of things so you can also have some time to relax.
