Wireless Network Setup for Windows XP
Getting Started
We recommend that you print these instructions or add them to your favorites/bookmarks.Windows XP users should make sure that they are logged onto their computer using an account that has administrator rights.
You will need to ensure that no third party wireless client is managing your wireless connection.
Wireless Network Configuration
1. Right click on the wireless Icon in your taskbar and select "View Available Wireless Networks".
2. Select "Change Advanced Settings"
3. Ensure that the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" Check Box is selected then click "Add"
4. On the Association Tab, in the Network Name field enter "letnet" (all lowercase), select "WPA" in the Network Authentication field and select "TKIP" in the Data Encryption field. (For higher security you may choose to select AES instead of TKIP, however you may be unable to connect to the wireless network in some locations.)
5.On the Authentication Tab ensure that "Protected EAP (PEAP)" is selected as EAP type and click "Properties"
6. At the "Protected EAP Properties Window click "Configure".
7. Clear the "Automatically use my Windows logon name" checkbox and click OK on each window to return to the Wireless Network Connection Window.
8. Ensure that the "letnet" wireless network is selected and click "Connect".
9. Click on the bubble that appears in the lowerleft corner of your screen.
10. When Prompted to Validate the Server Certificate click OK.
11. Click on the bubble that appears in the lowerleft corner of your screen.
12. Enter your LetNet Username and Password and enter "LETNET" for the logon domain than click OK.
13. You should now be connected to LetNet Wireless.
