Chief Terry Turner has served the LeTourneau University community since 2000 as the Assistant Director of Campus Security, Director of Campus Security and now as Chief of Police. In over three decades as a law enforcement professional, he has primarily been involved in front-line police operations. Chief Turner is a LeTourneau University graduate and holds a Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE), the licensing agency for peace officers in the State of Texas.

 
Van Burr

Officer Van Burr joined LETU in February 2009. He is a veteran of East Texas law enforcement, having worked for the City of Longview Police Department and the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office. He has served as a field training officer, investigator and as a task force agent during his more than 20 years of law enforcement. Officer Burr also holds a Master Peace Officer License with the TCLEOSE.

 

University Police Guards

Select students of LeTourneau University along with part-time personnel comprise the Corps of Guards.  All Guards participate in annual recurring training which enables them to resolve a wide variety of issues, provide professional services and facilitate most activities of the campus community, all under the guidance of the Chief of University Police and his staff.
