Longview Ceremony: Dr. Alfred B. Coyle

Dr. Alfred B. Coyle’s lifelong ministry and management have made a global impact, particularly through his mission leadership. He served on the board of directors of the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in Atlanta, Ga., in addition to serving as president of the Home Mission Board.  In his home state of Tennessee, Coyle served as president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, as a member of the board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and as a member of the Tennessee Baptist Convention Executive Committee.  Coyle currently serves on the board of trustees of Union University, is a trustee of the Southern Baptist Convention Baptist Foundation, has served as a preacher for the Southern Baptist Convention annual meetings, and has preached the annual sermon at the Pan American Convention in Central America.  Address Transcript

Houston Ceremony: Dr. Philip A. Coyle

Dr. Philip A. Coyle was named LETU’s provost and executive vice president in July 2011. Prior to this role, from 2002 to 2011, Dr. Coyle served as the academic dean and chief academic officer of Richmont Graduate University in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Atlanta, Ga. He served as the department chairman and professor of psychology and counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary from 1989 to 2002, overseeing master’s and doctoral degree programs in psychology, marriage and family therapy, divinity, and pastoral care and counseling. He has also taught at the William Carey University School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Latin-American University of Ambato, Ecuador.
