Senior Night Honors Hews, Jackets Fall to Comets

LONGVIEW, TX – The LeTourneau University Volleyball team played their final home game Tuesday night as they hosted the Comets of UT-Dallas. The night was a tribute to one of the finest to ever don the LETU uniform, Abigail Hews. However, the Comets proved to be too much taking the match in straight sets 25-11, 25-17, 25-17. UTD improves to 20-7 on the season and the Jackets drop to 4-18.

The YellowJackets were overpowered throughout the match tonight as the Comets managed to hit a solid .345 for the match. UTD saw four different players record double-figure kills with Aubrey Bratcher leading all players with 14 knockdowns.

The Jackets were led by freshman Rebecca Westrup who notched 9 kills while recording 9 digs as well. Abigail Hews recorded 21 assists in her final home game pushing her career assists total over 3,400. Hews holds the career record for assists at LETU and ranks in the top-10 in three other major categories.
