Ashley McPhail commits to play softball at LeTourneau
LONGVIEW
– LeTourneau University head softball coach Mike VanBrocklin announced
the commitment of former Katy Christian Faith Academy standout Ashley McPhail Friday.
McPhail, who helped Katy Christian Faith Academy to back-to-back
Homeschool State Championships over the past two seasons, has a career-high batting average of
.689. She also has stolen 26 bases. She was named 2008 Homeschool Defensive Player of the Year and
after helping the school to its first Homeschool State crown, McPhail earned the state championship
MVP.
McPhail chose LeTourneau over Mary Hardin-Baylor, the University of
Dallas and McLennan Community College.
