Jacket Tennis Kicks Off Fall Season

LONGVIEW, TEXAS - The LeTourneau University tennis teams started their respective seasons Thursday evening in Tyler, at the ASC Individual Championships. Head coach, Doug Carter, entering his 5th season at the helm of both teams, has high expectations for the season. The men are coming off an 11-9 season, while the women came off a second successful straight playoff campaign.
The ASC Individual Tournament is a flighted tournament, where players get to play the equivalent player in the other 13 teams’ lineups. “The format gives you an opportunity to see where you stand right away against the whole conference”, said Carter, “it’s great!”
With the draws being posted, the Jacket netters garnered a lot of respect with high seedings. In men’s singles, Mark Taylor (Paris North Lamar HS) is the 3 seed in 1’s; Ryan Thomas (Arlington Juan Seguin HS) is the 4 seed in 2’s; Wade Sinard (Corpus Christ Tuloso-Midway HS) is the 4 seed in 3’s; and Paul Haney (Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway... more...
