Men’s Golf Takes 4th at Schreiner Fall Classic

KERRVILLE, TEXAS – The LeTourneau University Men’s Golf Team wrapped up the 2008 fall season with a fourth place finish at the Schreiner Fall Classic from the Scott Schreiner Golf Course. The Jackets shot a team score of 597 while UT-Tyler won the event with a 566.

The YellowJackets were led by senior Ben Luckert who carded a 146 (71-75) and finished tied for 8th place overall. Jason Narron tied for 16th overall as he shot a 149 (72-77) while Spencer Rothleubber needed only one more stroke to tie for 21st place with a 150 (74-76). Joel Thelan and Ryan Scott rounded out the team portion with 153 and 158 respectively. In individual play Steven Morris finished tied for 8th overall with a 146 (74-72).

Adam Hailey of Texas at Brownsville won medalist honors as he shot 66-69 en route to a 5 under par 135.

The Jackets 4th place finish was their best of the fall season and they will now look to continue to build as they prepare for the conference... more...
