Men’s cross country places sixth at ASC Championships
CLINTON, Miss. – The LeTourneau University men’s cross country team captured sixth
Saturday during the American Southwest Conference Championships at The Choctaw Trails.
The YellowJackets had 153 points, taking sixth as the waterlogged course resulted in much
slower times.
Mississippi College (43 points) won the men’s event with Tino Gonzlez capturing the individual
trophy.
UT-Tyler (50) took second, followed by McMurry (60), Ozarks (109) and UT-Dallas (142).
Concordia-Austin (185), East Texas Baptist (218) and Louisiana College (273) rounded out the
field.
John McClanahan paced LeTourneau, which had two of the top runners on the team injured, by
crossing the finish line of the 8K run 22
nd in 31:09. Josh Baumgartner took 36
th in 33:03. Michael Felts (33:28) was 38
th, while Steven Cantine (34:34) took 48
th. Edward Tefft placed 50
th in 34:38. Andrew Callahan rounded out the team scoring by finishing 61
st in 36:28.
