Williamson commits to play collegiate basketball at LETU
LONGVIEW
– LeTourneau University men’s basketball coach Bob Davis announced
Tuesday the commitment of Van Alstyne High School boys basketball player Jace
Williamson.
“Jace is a very well-rounded young man, who exhibits a love of the
Lord, a commitment to his academics and has a fierce competitive spirit,” Davis said. “Because
he is a coaches son, we feel he brings solid fundamentals, as well as a unique insight into our
level of play. We are extremely happy that he has chosen to pursue his education at LETU.”
Williamson, who also lettered in track and field and golf, was a
three-year varsity member at Van Alstyne. He helped the team qualify for the playoffs all three
years. As a sophomore, he was named the District 9-3A Newcomer of the Year and Co-MVP at Van
Alstyne.
During junior season, he earned several accolades, including
First-Team All-District 9-3A, Second-Team All-Texoma Land and team Co-MVP. He also earned the TABC
