SCHEDULE:

The position is year round with the exception of scheduled vacation and paid holidays. Flight instruction and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but may include some evening and weekend flights. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The candidates for the position shall:
  1. Provide flight and ground instruction to assigned students to levels of competency and completion as outlined in flight syllabi. 
  2. Perform assigned university related flight duties, oral briefings, simulator sessions, facility tours and other duties as requested.
  3. Work with and be responsible to the Director of Flight Training and/or the Chief Instructor.
  4. Participate in normal college activities related to a flight instructor position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to leadership at a small, dynamic Christian university where the integration of faith and academic excellence is paramount. LeTourneau University operates a Federal Aviation Regulation, Part 141 flight program as part of its Aeronautical Science Bachelor’s Degree Program. Minimum professional qualifications are: B.S. degree in aviation, commercial pilot – airplane single/multi engine land, instrument rating – airplane, certified flight instructor airplane, certified instrument flight instructor and certified multi-engine flight instructor. An airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate is highly desirable. This person must have the ability to work effectively in a team relationship with fellow flight instructors and within the community of LeTourneau University. The ability to relate to students is also a requirement.
