SCHEDULE:

The position is a full-time, non-tenure track position with teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate level during the fall and spring semesters, as well as summer research.  Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but will include some evening classes and independent studies. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and development of significant scholarly endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to teaching and conducting research at a small, dynamic Christian university where the integration of faith and academic excellence is paramount. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Welding or Materials Joining Engineering or a closely related field.  This position will include teaching at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, and development of research. Desired areas of expertise include welding metallurgy, processes, numerical modeling, automation and robotics, design or non-destructive testing. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of outstanding potential in teaching and applied research. Information on the engineering program at LeTourneau can be found at the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology web-page: http://www.letu.edu/_Academics/Engineering/index.html Materials Joining Research can be found under http://www.letu.edu/opencms/opencms/_Academics/Engineering/engineering/welding/research/

DATE POSITION IS AVAILABLE: August 2012. This position is contingent upon completion of funding, which is expected by February 2012
