The position is a full-time, tenure track position with teaching during the fall and spring semesters, with the possibility of summer school teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but will include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.
LeTourneau University seeks an innovative, dynamic, and student-focused instructor to teach graduate courses in counseling and marriage & family therapy. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a clinical or counseling setting, and will be licensed or license eligible in Texas as a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage & family therapist, or licensed psychologist. The candidate for this 11-month, full-time tenure-track psychology faculty position would teach courses primarily in the graduate on-ground and online programs with some opportunities for teaching undergraduate courses. Additionally, he or she will help identify and secure practicum sites for students in the Dallas Metroplex area. Also, this individual will work closely with the coordinator of the DFW-Metroplex M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy program, and with the admissions and marketing teams to recruit students for the Dallas-based programs. Further, the successful candidate will help to identify and recruit adjunct instructors for the graduate and undergraduate psychology programs. A doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an appropriately accredited institution is required. Though not essential, the preferred candidate has an earned degree from a COAMFTE, CACREP, or APA-accredited program. The candidate must value the integration of Christian faith with learning and with clinical practice. A minimum of three years of experience as a professor and as a practitioner is preferred. The preferred candidate is clinically and academically oriented to the field of marriage and family therapy.
