SALT Scholarship

The SALT  Scholarship is a 4-year scholarship to be awarded by the Office of Student Life to incoming students based on previous service, leadership, experience, potential, and financial need. This scholarship and its requisite activities are designed to help students develop their gifts and skills for service and leadership during their time at LeTourneau University by continuing what was begun before and connecting with other like-minded students. This scholarship will be awarded in amounts up to $3,000 to recipients by the Student Life SALT Scholarship Committee.

Criteria for Applicants

Applicants must:

  • Profess and exhibit a vibrant Christian faith
  • Be a fully-admitted (non-provisional) incoming freshman at LeTourneau University.
  • Demonstrate evidence of a commitment to service and leadership
  • Exhibit a desire to continue to serve and to grow in leadership throughout their LETU career

Selection Process

Candidates are expected to submit an application and two non-family recommendations. A personal interview--for which the applicant's admissions résumé will be reviewed--will be scheduled by the scholarship committee during a Preview or other campus visit, or via telephone or Skype if a personal visit is not possible.

We are now accepting applications and scheduling interviews. The last application will be accepted on March 20th, 2013, so it is possible to schedule interviews at the Spring Preview, March 21st-22nd.

The scholarship committee will begin awarding scholarships shortly after the March 20th deadline and will continue as resources are available. The Dean of Students will notify candidates personally.
