Why LETU?

Competitive Professional Degrees

LeTourneau University offers more than 60 competitive programs.  Our goal is for our students to excel both inside and outside the classroom.  Our flagship programs are in aeronautical science and engineering, with strong programs in the areas of arts and sciences, teacher education and business.  Almost 3,600 students from nearly every state and 25 nations seek out LeTourneau to further their education in our traditional and non-traditional adult studies programs.  Further, our new Civil Engineering and Air Traffic Control programs continue to make LeTourneau University a leader in higher education.

Dedicated Faculty

LeTourneau University faculty members are committed Christians and outstanding educators.  Each is credentialed and certified for teaching in his or her field of study.  In addition to classroom and laboratory assignments, our faculty members are often invited to prestigious organizations and research facilities such as NASA (National Aeronautical and Space Administration) to conduct research during the summer.

National Recognition

U.S. News & World Report ranks LeTourneau University 31st among Master's Comprehensive Universities in the Western region in its 2009 rankings of "America's Best Colleges."  LETU has been ranked in the top tier for six consecutive years, following its reclassification in 2001, after nine years of ranking in the top tier among Liberal Arts Schools.

Support to Succeed in the Classroom

LeTourneau University is dedicated to helping our international students succeed in the classroom, better their conversational English and gain a broad understanding of American culture and life.  Our Intensive English Program (IEP), taught by Dr. Ignacio Palacios, a certified ESL instructor, and Mr. Steve Vance, provides an overview and introduction to everyday English language and American society.  Our dedicated Student Affairs staff also provides support for our international students by helping with orientation, housing, tutoring, immigration and visa issues, and student life.
