Before you Go
Congratulations on the decision to study abroad! Whether it is for a few short weeks or an entire year, this will be one of the most enriching experiences in your life. Let us help you get on your way.
Program Selection and Approval:
STEP 1: Visit the Office of International Studies to learn about all the great study abroad programs!
STEP 2: Decide which study abroad program interests you.
STEP 3: Meet with your advisor to discuss the study abroad program.
STEP 4: Download and print the Study Abroad Application.
STEP 5: Get your Study Abroad Application signed.
STEP 6: Apply to the program of your choice.
(Most
programs have their own application too.)
STEP 7: Complete the course request form for the courses to be taken, and return it to the Office of the Registrar. (Make sure you keep a copy of your completed form to submit along with your Study Abroad Application.)
STEP 8: Visit with your Financial Aid counselor (if applying for financial aid) and your Student Accounts representative to make payment arrangements for your chosen program of study.
STEP 9: Complete registration according to the dates and deadlines published in LeTourneau University's academic calendar for either the fall or spring term.
STEP 10: Return the completed Study Abroad Application and copy of course request form to the Office of International Studies.
As soon as you are accepted, let the Office of International Studies know via email.
Once you are approved for your trip by LETU, then you have to:
STEP 1: Get a passport or make sure your passport is still valid for travel into and out of the United States. Please note that passport processing can take weeks, so please do this as soon as possible!
STEP 2: Get a Student Visa for the country you will be visiting. Please note that Visa processes can take weeks, so don’t delay.
