Fall 2010 Scholarship Requirements

Are you a college-bound student interested in studying in the fields of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering?  If so, we have a tremendous opportunity for you to study something you love - and get some scholarship money to help! The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded LeTourneau University funding to attract students in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. This program is known as the LeTourneau University STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Scholarship Program. If you are entering LETU for the Fall 2010 semester and planning to major in a Computer Science or Electrical Engineering/Technology field, then you may be eligible to apply for one of eight (8) scholarships worth up to $5,000.  Scholarships may be renewed up to two consecutive academic years. 

Criteria for Eligibility for STEM Scholarships for Fall 2010

  1. Must be unconditionally accepted for admission to LeTourneau University, majoring in either the electrical engineering or computer science programs.
  2. Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Have a minimum ACT composite score of 24 (exluding writing) or combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1100. 
  4. Underrepresented student populations are especially encouraged to apply.
  5. The university strongly suggests that applicants have successfully completed a mathematics sequence in high school that includes Algebra I & II, Geometry and Trigonometry.
  6. Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  7. Complete an interview with the LETU/STEM Grant Directors (details sent after application processed).
  8. Complete all application requirements by March 1, 2010.
