Vision and Values

Vision

As a student in the Department of Psychology at LeTourneau University, faculty and staff will invest time and energy in you and your education. The Psychology Department strives to:

• Educate in a manner grounded in the Christian faith;
• Train highly competent mental health professionals from a responsible clinical perspective for work with individuals, couples, families and groups;
• Instill in students a vision for ministry to carry throughout the world;
• Practice and emphasize a commitment to professional service;
• Conduct training in an intentional community of faith to balance spiritual, personal, professional, and interpersonal growth and development.

As a department we teach:

• Human suffering requires empathy and understanding.
• A respectful and nonjudgmental attitude toward all persons and valuing of that which brings them health and wholeness.
• A commitment to one's own personal growth toward spiritual and psychological maturity.
