Anderson recently retired from the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) after 34 years. He began his career as an enlisted member for four years and retired in the rank of Colonel.
In his most recent position, Anderson served directly with the Air Force Surgeon General as the Director of Strategic Communication and Organizational improvement for the AFMS (75 medical treatment facilities, 40,000 personnel, $32 billion budget).
In his previous assignment, Anderson served a one-year tour in Afghanistan to help the Afghanistan National Police Surgeon General build his healthcare system for 82,000 police members and over 550,000 family members.
Anderson is a board certified healthcare executive with 30 years of experience including multiple deployments to support expeditionary operations. He has led complex healthcare organizations as a CEO or COO, managed multiple hospital departments, and served as CIO and CFO for multi health system.
