Systems of Differential Equations in Biology
Systems of 1st order, nonlinear, ordinary differential equations offer a very unique look at many phenomena in science. Scientists often encounter dynamically changing entities which can best be modeled using systems of differential equations. Often these phenomena do not have closed form (algebraic) solutions. However, they can be demonstrated graphically and numerically through the use of a computer algebra system. This paper will use Maple 16 to demonstrate examples from biology.
