Mechanical Systems Concentration

Do you want a career in aviation, but really enjoy engineering and building? Then try our Mechanical Systems Concentration or Aircraft Systems! Our mechanical engineering technology courses prepare you to work with aircraft and aircraft systems.

What makes this degree different from a full engineering degree? Aircraft Systems is an applied degree based on the A&P maintenance technician curriculum, and involves significantly less math and theory. This degree in aviation technology prepares you to work as an aircraft engineer for a company like Cessna Aircraft. From a practical prospective, you’ll know how theory and mechanical systems work together to make a working aircraft.

Certification you earn:

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician Certificate

A few career options:

  • Design engineer
  • Integration engineer
  • Maintenance facility engineer
  • Aviation engineering technologist
  • Systems engineer
  • Aircraft maintenance technician
