This procedure is useful for hiding column information from students, while the Instructor is still able to view the information. Weighted totals and total points for the course are useful for the Instructor but potentially misleading for the student, since the information during the course might be incomplete. While the above-mentioned columns are used as examples, any column may be selected for this procedure.
1. Go to the course in Blackboard. In the “Course Management Control Panel,” select “Grade Center.”

2. More choices will appear. Click on “Full Grade Center.”
3. At the column heading for the column that you wish to hide, click on the chevron to edit the column information. Although two chevrons are circled to show the two targeted columns, you will do this procedure one column at a time.

4. A drop-down box will appear with several choices. Click on “Edit Column Information.” Note: Do not click on “Hide Column,” as this will hide the column from yourself.
5. In the Edit Column Information screen, scroll down to section 4, “Options.” In the row labeled “Show this Column to Students,” click on the radio button for “No.”
6. Click on “Submit” in the lower right or upper right of the screen.
