Digital Tuner Requirement (Clear QAM & ATSC)
Our system is broadcasting a digital signal using Clear QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee). ATSC is used by over-the-air television and QAM by cable channel providers.

Though the ATSC standard is now mandated by the FCC, there are no requirements for QAM. The purpose of QAM is to provide a high-quality digital signal without a set-top box. Our digital delivery system is based on equipment from Technicolor and Blonder Tongue, both leaders in the video industry. You can see from our channel lineup, we have a variety of channel technologies:  broadcast over-the-air, HD, and SD (SD channels are still fully digital) .

Audio Support on some Tuners:
Some lower-end TVs cannot receive audio for channels 60.1 - 72.6 (the digital SD channels). We recommend avoiding these brands of TVs if at all possible. More information on brands known to be affected as well as other options are available in our article on "Recommended TVs and Tuners."

Severe Weather Programming Interruption:
Most of our channels are received via satellite. TV satellite systems sometimes lose signal during intense rain storms. This should be rare, and we have worked to minimize the chances of this under any but the most intense storms.

Features under Development
Channel Information (PSIP): Due to ongoing work with ensuring compatibility in our channel information transmitted to TVs (PSIP) some channels may not have the channel name displayed currently on some televisions. TVs unable to receive the channel name information on these channels should still be able to tune to the channel and watch content.

DVR/TiVo/Computer Tuner Support: We are working to document Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and computer-based tuners that work with our system. In addition, our lineup provider is anticipating supporting full digital channel numbers this spring which will enable full TiVo support. Any tuners which are eventually supported will require ClearQAM support - so if you are researching options for the future be sure they support ClearQAM in their specifications.
