An orientation in the world of the Old Testament which surveys the social, economic, and political history of the ancient Near East with emphasis on its relation to the Old Testament. Integrated with this material will be geography, archaeology, and the study of institutions as these issues enlighten an understanding of the Old Testament.
Prerequisites: BIBL 1033 and BIBL 1043.
