| DSTC 1023 Foundations of Design Technology Methods and skills in graphical communication including spatial visualization, orthographic projection, technical illustration and descriptive geometry. Concepts are reinforced with application using freehand sketching and drawing instruments. Class 2. Lab 4. (Fall) | DSTC 1203 Computer Aided Drafting And Design An introduction to computerized drafting using microcomputers with two-dimensional and solid modeling CAD software to provide the student with a working knowledge of computer aided drafting. Class 3. | DSTC 1413 Technical Design Elements I Advanced drafting, CAD and solid modeling procedures for electrical/electronic, welding, sheet metal, and mechanical elements. Emphasis is placed on a general knowledge of the functions of the elements in each area. Class 2. Lab 4. Prerequisites: DSTC 1203 or consent of instructor. (Fall) | DSTC 2811 Engineering Design Technology I Preliminary level design of a complete system with its integral parts including design support and development using analysis, modeling, and drawings. Students participate in the conceptual and preliminary design procedures by participating in a team project with engineering and engineering technology students. Class 1. Prerequisite: DSTC 3433 or consent of instructor. Corequisite: DSTC 1413 (Fall) | DSTC 2821 Engineering Design Technology II Advanced level design including support and development of illustrations, drawings, reports, and reviews. Continuation and completion of team projects initiated in DSTC 2811 with engineering and engineering technology students. Class 1. Prerequisites: DSTC 1313, DSTC 2811, and DSTC 3433, or consent of instructor. (Spring) | DSTC 3423 Technical Design Elements II A survey course that covers structural, map, and plane surveying and pipe drafting. Emphasis is placed on gaining a general knowledge of the functions of each area using advanced drafting, CAD and solid modeling techniques. Class 2. Lab 4. Prerequisites: DSTC 1203 and DSTC 1413 or consent of instructor. (Spring) | DSTC 3433 Solids Modeling A course in the use of three-dimensional software to produce drawings of solid objects. Class 3. Prerequisites: DSTC 1203. (Spring) | DSTC 3443 Computer Aided Manufacturing An exploration into the process of using computer software to transform solid models to be manufactured in a computer numerical control environment. Class 3. Prerequisite or Corequisite: DSTC 3433 (Spring) |
