EDUC 2101 Introduction to American Education for EC-6 Teaching

This course is designed to serve as an introduction to the organization and structure of the elementary, middle, and high school experience, with a focus on American elementary schools. Emphasis will be given to teaching as a profession, expectations for new teachers, and potential job options in education. Students will also examine the requirements for becoming a certified teacher in Texas. A 10-hour field experience is required as part of the requirements for this course.
