An overview of the aviation profession and the vehicles used for powered flight. Topics include: attributes of an aviation professional, airman qualifications privileges and limitations, career opportunities, ethics, technical publications, weight and balance from the technician's perspective, aircraft configuration, and operational capabilities. A study of the early history of powered flight is also included.
