Traditional Students General Engineering Technology (GETC) Department of Engineering Technology GETC 1012 Analysis Of Technical Systems Introduction to engineering analysis and problem-solving concepts through (1) an introduction to engineering calculations, (2) nontechnical aspects including safety and ethics factors, (3) written and oral communications including instructions and descriptions, and (4) completion of extensive, detailed analysis project including written and oral reports. Class 2. Prerequisite: MATH 1203 or MATH 1303. Corequisites: ENGL 1013 and MATH 1252 (Spring) GETC 2313 Materials Technology Atomic and microscale architecture of materials. Material properties, structures, and processing of metals and alloys, plastics, ceramics, semiconductors, and composites. Class 3. Prerequisite: PHYS 1113 or CHEM 1113. (Fall) GETC 3323 Modern Manufacturing Methods A survey of modern manufacturing equipment and processes used for converting raw materials to finished products, including recent developments, robotics, flexible production lines, just-in-time inventorying, CAM, and quality control techniques. Class 3. Prerequisite: GETC 2313. (Spring) GETC 4941-4993 Special Topics Individual or group research, development, or design. Special permission only. Class 1-3. | ||||||
