AAS 1003 Foundational Concepts Of Aviation Studies An overview of the aviation profession and the vehicles used for powered flight. Topics include; attributes of an aviation professional, airman qualifications privileges and limitations, career opportunities, ethics, technical publications, weight and balance from the technician's perspective, aircraft configuration, and operational capabilities. BIBL 1003 Biblical Foundations For Living (L) An introductory course highlighting the relationship between Biblical teaching and contemporary Christian living. This initial experience in the integration of faith and learning focuses on principles of Biblical interpretation and application. Students learn how to interpret core Biblical passages so as to give guidance for some of the tough issues Christians face today. This course may not be taken by anyone who has passed BIBL 1013 New Testament Literature. Class 3. |

DSTC 1203 Computer Aided Drafting And Design An introduction to computerized drafting using microcomputers with two-dimensional and solid modeling CAD software to provide the student with a working knowledge of computer aided drafting. Class 3. Prerequisite: DSTC 1022 or previous drafting course. DSTC 1203 is for students who have completed a drafting course. DSTC 1022 is required as a deficiency course for students with no drafting experience. |

ENGL 1013 English Composition I A study of effective writing, reading, and speaking. Expository writing and the use of the personal computer to plan, draft, and revise will be emphasized. Fulfill English Proficiency Requirement All students must demonstrate proficiency in English by passing either the English Proficiency Examination or ENGL 1001 English Review. AAS 1401 DC Electricity Laboratory Experimental practice exercises in the wiring of DC electrical circuits including series, parallel, series parallel, and complex circuits. Emphasis is placed on schematic diagram interpretation, multi meter use, basic soldering, and circuit fault isolation. Lab safety is emphasized throughout the course. Class 1. Lab 2. AAS 1403 DC Electricity Principles of electricity covering direct current circuits, electrical units, Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's voltage and current laws, and solutions to complex circuits using Thevenin's theorem and loop equations. Inductance, capacitance, magnetism, electromagnetism, induction, troubleshooting principles, and AC are also introduced. Class 3. Corequisites: AVTC 1401 and MATH 1203 Minimum grade of 'C' required. |

BIBL 2003 Biblical Literature This survey provides an overall perspective for understanding the Bible within its historical and cultural setting. The course will focus on the reading of significant portions of the Bible so that students may grasp the framework and themes of the Old and New Testaments as well as the relationship between the Testaments. Throughout the course students will also develop skills in interpreting and applying the Bible to contemporary situations. This course may not be taken by anyone who has passed BIBL 1013 New Testament Literature or BIBL 2013 Old Testament Literature. Class 3. Prerequisite: BIBL 1003. |

ENGL 1023 English Composition II A study of argumentation/logic and writing for the professions with an emphasis on using the personal computer to plan, draft, and revise written projects.
