American Foreign Policy

An analysis of American diplomacy from 1776 to the present. The period since 1900 is emphasized. Particular focus is placed on the development of economic foreign policy and the decision-making process. The roles that the President, the State Department, and the American public play in the formulation of foreign policy are discussed.
Prerequisite: HIST 2113 or HIST 2123 or permission of Instructor.
