Students focus on the developmental stages of reading, including word recognition skills, comprehension, integration of the language arts, and vocabulary development. Topics include ways of organizing and managing reading instruction in a regular classroom as well as methods for special needs students. Students will observe and participate in upper elementary classrooms, grade 5-8. (May be taken by secondary education students.)
