What happens if I become due a refund based upon a payment that is made by Debit or Credit card?
If you have a credit balance due to overpayment or a dropped course that results from a payment made by Debit or Credit card, LeTourneau University will process the refund back through the same card that the payment was made from. The convenience fee associated with the credit balance or overpayment will not be refunded.
We discourage students from intentionally making an overpayment on their student account unless you are making payment for registration that is not yet completed. Remember, you will not be refunded the convenience fee if the overpayment results in a refund.
Can I avoid paying the convenience fee?
Yes, payments made by electronic check will not be assessed the convenience fee. When making payment through your Nelnet portal, the assessed convenience fee will be presented as you are making your payment. You will have the option at that time to change your payment method and use an electronic check to make payment from your checking or savings account.
Additional options for payment that do not include the assessment of a convenience fee are check, money order and cash. Payments by cash, check, and money order can be made through the Cashier’s Office located on the 2nd floor of the Library. Additionally, payments by check and money order can be mailed to:
