For Homeschoolers

Homeschool Friendly College 2004

Homeschooling Parent Magazine, America's #1 Homeschooling Magazine, recognized LeTourneau University as the 2004 Homeschool Friendly College of the Year!

Homeschoolers are the fastest growing student group at LeTourneau University. Currently, 17 percent of the LETU students have  a homeschooling background. Many of our professors and their spouses home school their own children - which means they understand the value of homeschooling. In addition, they provide guidance and mentoring to home school students as they make the transition to college life. Here are some reasons LETU is such a good match for homeschoolers.

Spiritual Reasons

  • LeTourneau's education is grounded in Christian principles and integrated into every major and every course.
  • Faculty being each class session with a prayer and/or devotional time.
  • Nationally and internationally recognized Christian men and women present in chapel.

Academic Reasons

  • We readily accept homeschool transcripts.
  • LeTourneau offers 60 degrees in both graduate and undergraduate programs in a variety of liberal arts with flagship programs in aeronautical science and engineering.
  • LeTourneau is consistently ranked in the top tier by U.S. News & World Report's Best College Guide.
  • LeTourneau is listed in Peterson's Guide to Competitive Colleges.
  • Faculty-to-student ratio is 14:1.

Financial Reasons

  • Greater than 96% of all full-time students who apply for aid receive some form of financial aid.
  • Graduates have a 95% job placement rate.
  • Over $40 Million is provided to students in financial aid!

Social Reasons

  • Students can participate in any of eight intercollegiate varsity sports. Intramural participation among resident students is one of the highest in the nation, with over 80% participation in 19 sports.
  • Students tell us they feel like they "belong" at LeTourneau and that there's a strong sense of community on the campus.
  • Students can participate in service projects, student government, intercollegiate team sports, mission trips, plays and music groups/bands.
  • Living in residential halls on campus can create lifelong friendships.
