FAQ - Non-Traditional Graduation Information

What do I need to do in order to graduate?

You must complete an “Application of Intent to Graduate” form and send the form and graduation fee to the Registrar's Office by the application deadline.

Where can I find the Intent to Graduate form?

The form can be located in the forms section of the Registrar's website.

When is the deadline to file for graduation?

Fall – October 1 or if it falls on a weekend, the Monday after.
Spring & Summer – February 1 or if it falls on a weekend, the Monday after.

Do I still have to pay the graduation fee if I am not participating in the ceremony?

Yes, this is the fee established by the university for all graduates. The fee for the undergraduate program is $100, the fee for the graduate program is $150 and the fee to reapply is $35.

I will have completed all but 6 hours by the graduation date. Can I still graduate?

No. All hours must be complete by the day of graduation. Students who apply for August graduation by the February 1st deadline may participate in the May graduation ceremony but must complete graduation requirements by the August deadline.

My last class doesn’t end until a few days after graduation; can I still graduate?

All courses must be complete by the day of graduation.

I graduated several months ago and I still have not received my diploma.

The Registrar's Office cannot send out your diploma if all your course work is not complete or if you have a hold on your account. Make sure all transcripts from other schools have been sent to LeTourneau, your student account is clear, and all access cards have been turned in.

When can I expect to receive my diploma?

If your course work is completed by the day of the graduation ceremony and the Registrar's Office has all your records and verifies you are complete, you will receive your diploma after the ceremony unless you have a hold on your student account.

If your grades or transcripts from other schools have not been received by the Registrar's Office before the day of the graduation ceremony, your diploma will be mailed as soon as the Registrar's Office receives the grades and transcripts; verifies your course work is complete; and confirms that your student account is clear.

Does my diploma indicate what honors I will receive?

LeTourneau University does not list academic honor levels on diplomas.

Can I still apply/participate in the graduation ceremony if my transcript with my transfer work is not received by LeTourneau prior to the graduation date?

Yes, but you will not be able to receive your diploma after the graduation ceremony. When your transcript is received by the Registrar's Office within 30 days after the official graduation date and is assessed showing your course work is complete, your degree will then be posted and your diploma mailed.

Are the cap and gown included in the fee, or is there another fee?

The fee covers the cap and gown.

What if I apply to graduate and do not finish my required coursework?

You must re-apply to graduate before the next application deadline and pay an additional fee of $35.
