M.Ed., LPC, NCC
My name is Rachel Olshine and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor. I am originally from South Carolina and I graduated from Columbia International University with a B.S in Communications. After college, I moved to East Texas to work at a therapeutic boarding school for troubled teenagers. It was through that experience of working and living in-house with students that I felt confident in God’s calling to pursue a career in counseling.
I attended Clemson University and earned my M.Ed in Counselor Education with a focus on Clinical Mental Health. After graduate school, East Texas called me back and I returned to the boarding school to work for two years as a therapist. Prior to coming to LETU, I worked for two years at East Texas Baptist University as a therapist and student development specialist. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and being out on the water. I have a passion for Jesus, people, shoes and sushi.
My desire is to work with students and adults of diverse populations, working toward holistic development, empowering individuals, and helping to foster an arena for change. Over the course of my career, I have been honored to help clients work towards their goals and personal wellness. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral framework, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship issues, mood disorders, grief and loss, and family distress. I also have experience with group counseling and enjoy the process of learning from one another and sharing life together. My heart is to help walk along with you in your personal journey, giving support and wise counsel.
