He serves as an associate professor of leadership who also directs the Graduate programs in business, leadership, health care and engineering management, and speaks to business groups on topics such as 'future proof your company' to help managers respond to trends that are reshaping their industries.

Before coming to LeTourneau, he served for eight years as professor of foresight to graduate students from the MBA to PhD, as well as 15 years to non-profit, public, and private enterprises, as a strategic management consultant in operations research, trend analysis, horizon scanning and issues management. Throughout the '90s, he worked as a "millennial consultant" helping communities mark their passage into the 21st century. In 1994, he penned the first inspirational book on how to celebrate Christ's 2,000th jubilee.

Dr. Gary is best known among evangelical audiences for launching the ‘Perspectives on the World Christian Movement’ program in 1982, which has enrolled over 100,000 students since its inception. Following that, he worked as an alliance manager for the Lausanne Movement, founded by evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham.
