Aircraft & Equipment
The LETU fleet currently has 12 airplanes for flight operations, including Skyhawks, Citabrias, a Piper Lance and Diamond Twin Stars.
In the engine labs you will work on a Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turbine engine, Rockwell Collins flight deck avionics system, Hughes 269A helicopter and a Williams FJ-44 Turbo Fan Engine.
Students also spend time in the Yard, an area behind the labs where aircraft not used for flight operations are kept. Just a few of the things you'll learn in the Yard are how to troubleshoot electrical problems on a T-39A Saberliner, how the components of an AS-350 Star Helicopter fit together and how to borescope a CF-6 turbo fan engine.
